OUR IMPACT

The 2018 National Autism Spectrum Disorder Surveillance System (NASS) Report estimates autism's prevalence as 1 in 46 children in Canada. This includes 1 in 42 boys and 1 in 189 girls. Autism is the most common neurological disorder in children. Symptoms may appear during the first three years of life. It is estimated that there are approximately 60,000 people affected by ASD in BC – 10,000 under the age of 19 and 50,000 adults.

That is why Saccomaniacs Agriculture for Autism came to exist.

Since 2009 an annual event raised fuds for autism research and program support.

Since 2014, we have raised 700,000.00+ for the Pacific Autism Fraser Valley spoke. We raise funds and awareness through our annual Agriculture for Autism event.

With the help of all of our amazing partners, we’ve made it our goal to support a Fraser Valley Spoke Office.

The goal for 2023 is to raise $150,000 NET - which will bring the amount raised in the last 15 years to over $1,000,000!

The funds we raise are enabling programs and support for the autism spectrum community.

GoodLife Fitness Family Autism hub is designed to meet the unique needs of individuals with ASD and their families, while also providing an open, unique and collaborative environment for autism service providers, organizations, clinicians and researchers.

In this way PAFN is helping to provide a “one-stop-shop” for families, and the opportunity for all stakeholders to work together towards new solutions.

Autism is emerging as one of the most pressing issues of our times. The Pacific Autism Family Network is a once-in-history chance for British Columbia to leverage our excellence on behalf of BC families, communities throughout Canada and – increasingly – people all over the world.

  • Over 15,000 people have found resources on PAFN's national knowledge network
